Fluidity buffer .

Cholesterol is found in animal cell membrane.it makes the membrane more fluid and stable .This is through  what is nkown fluidity buffer,This means cholesterol acts as abidirectional regulator of membrane fluidity because at high temperatures it stabilizes the membrane and raises its melting point whereas at low  temperatures if intercalates between the phospholipids and prevents them from clustering together and stiffening .
