EVALUATION SYSTEM

  • Since this course is project/Community-based, a significant portion of the course grade will go for the project tasks, and the Community will be part of the evaluation process. The project grade will be divided into three parts: oral presentation, project reports, and project quality. Rubric for PBL assessment is attached.

  • Two team/problem based assignments given on the  6th,and  10th weeks of the semester.

Honor code: The work needs to be your own. Cite references to the code written by others that you modified for your project.

Problem/team based assignment

Practical assignment (No.1) given in the 6th week.  Students on a team-based asked to solve and create a web page to solve a specific problem regarding handling data records in database by using PHP methods. Rubric for assessment is attached.

Problem/team based assignment

Practical assignment (No.2) given in the 10th week.  Students on a team-based asked to develop a simple website by applying and using PHP framework tool. Rubric for assessment is attached.

Lab Assignments

hands-on interactive computer exercises conducted in the CIS computer lab and include a lab assignment expected to completed or nearly completed by the end of lab. All labs carry equal weight.

Term project

Students will be divided into six teams with 3-5 students in each one. Each team will work on completing the development of an authentic software project to be provided from the industry by the private company partner or to address the needs of our community.  Rubric for assessment is attached.
