Dear Students

Prepare a study on digital modulation techniques. Submit your findings in a well-organized manner with clear explanations, diagrams, and simulation results. Include MATLAB code (if applicable) and any additional references used.

Your work should include issues like;

1.     Introduction:

-        Briefly explain the concept of digital modulation and its significance in communication systems.

-        Discuss why digital modulation is preferred over analog modulation in modern communication.

2.     Types of Digital Modulation Techniques:

     - Phase Shift Keying (PSK):

        - Explore PSK and its variations (BPSK, QPSK, etc.).

        - Discuss the trade-offs between different PSK schemes.

        - Highlight applications where PSK is commonly used.

    - Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM):

        - Explain QAM and its role in high-speed data transmission.

        - Discuss the trade-off between bandwidth efficiency and error performance.

        - Illustrate QAM constellations and their practical use.

3. Simulation:

·       Use MATLAB or any other simulation tool to demonstrate the performance of different modulation techniques.

·       Plot BER (Bit Error Rate) curves for ASK, FSK, PSK, and QAM under varying SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) conditions.

4. Conclusion:

    - Summarize the key points discussed in the assignment.

    - Reflect on the practical implications of choosing the right modulation technique.

Best Regards
